One error which can happen is the ERROR 14 - it tells you that you have no property for CQUAD elements or CTRIA elements on a 3D model.
You may wonder why you would even have 2D elements in your model and this is leads you to the meshing process. When Hypermesh meshes 3D it first creates a 2D Mesh on the outer surface and then transforms this mesh into a 3D mesh. The 2D elements should be deleted in this process but sometimes because of a failed meshing process they will persist in your model and ruin your run.

Check out how to find and delete them and you are good to go :)
