Hey,

In this video I will take a closer look on modal transient response analysis. This is the second approach following the direct transient response analysis. Basically you are interested in the response of you structure to a time dependent excitation funciton. It is solved by using shape modes. For large models it is more efficient. Be sure to check the frequency of the excitation. If its hight, a lot of modes have to be extracted, which is time-consuming.
