The driving experience is designed to feel natural and accessible: with superb pedal tuning, direct steering with excellent feedback, and brakes with a seamless transition between regenerative and friction braking. Depending on the selected driving mode, the A390 can be driven from exceptionally comfortable to exceptionally sporty. Especially in urban environments, one-pedal driving, which allows the vehicle to decelerate even to a complete stop, provides a relaxing experience.
The red OV (Overtake) button on the steering wheel activates an overtake function that delivers up to ten seconds of additional power. This patented feature was inspired by motorsport and gaming. When the extra power is released, an animation of the speed and remaining time appears on the instrument cluster, while a dynamic animation is displayed on the main screen.
The A390 also features Launch Control, which enables optimal acceleration from a standstill. To activate it, in Sport mode, both pedals are fully depressed with both feet, the OV button on the steering wheel is pressed, and then the foot is released from the brake. An animation will appear on the instrument panel, accompanied by a specific sound during acceleration.
