Alone At Last, for the #EndlichAllein scoring competition, with the wonderful @MartinHeidenreichMusic and @AndreasDormannMusic - teaming up to provide this footage, some cool prizes and an awesome musical community, helping us all to grow together.
This one is a dark edit of some choice clips to push a story and I hope my music reflects this. Starting with some sweet piano, but just a little 'off' with the solo strings. Some sound design elements are introduced as things turn bad. The 'krumping' sounding pulse is actually made from some deep brass instruments for example.
I added a little extra muffled cry as Mark and Thomas talk at the door... but Mark is just watching a horror movie... right? - It seemed to make sense that would happen and is my - rather subtle 'one surprising moment'. That and the sparkle of Hanno's innocent smile in my thumbnail XD!
When the piano returns at the end, it's very much under different circumstances as we watch Franka regret her recent choices, and we get some more sound design as things swell towards the end.
Fun to make this #HorrorMusic and big thanks to the aforementioned organizers; Martin and Andreas :)
