Altium Develop gives your growing electronics team real-time visibility into PCB designs, BOMs, and manufacturing feedback β all in one collaborative platform: altium.com/develop?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=one-minute-pcb-design-reviews&utm_content=almost-perfect-3rd-pcb-design
In this One Minute PCB Design Review, Tech Consultant Zach Peterson analyzes a high-power RGB projector PCB from a designer who has only completed three boards β and the results are surprisingly solid. Zach reviews the power regulation strategy, component choices, and fabrication documentation, highlighting where the designer made smart decisions and identifying the few areas that still need attention before heading to manufacturing.
Among the topics covered, Zach questions why a 5-watt power resistor appears on one RGB channel but not the others, flags that 0.1mm clearances are unnecessarily tight and will add fabrication cost, and points out that the silkscreen layer looks more like an assembly drawing than a standard silkscreen. He also notes the drill drawing is a great inclusion, though tolerances need to be added across all drills. For a third-ever PCB design, there's genuinely not much to complain about β making this an inspiring and instructive watch for hobbyists and aspiring engineers alike.
