Volkswagen officially revealed the all-new 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, introducing the second generation of its sporty, two-row midsize SUV.
Key Highlights:
Design & Exterior: Features a sleek overhaul with cleaner lines, stacked LED headlights, double light bars across the front, and an illuminated VW badge (on most trims). It has a shorter rear overhang and a more raked, coupé-like rear roofline compared to the three-row Atlas.
Performance & Powertrain:
Powered by an updated 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine (EA888 EVO5) producing 282 horsepower (+13 hp over the outgoing model).
Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, available in Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) or 4MOTION® All-Wheel Drive (AWD).
Offers improved fuel efficiency and maintains a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs.
Interior & Technology:
Features a redesigned cabin with higher-end materials, real wood trim, and a new steering-column gear shifter to free up center console space.
Standard 10.3-inch Digital Cockpit Pro gauge cluster paired with a 12.9-inch touchscreen on base models, while higher trims feature a 15-inch infotainment display with AI Voice Assistant integration.
Practical upgrades include dual wireless phone chargers with magnetic grips, standard pull-up rear sunshades, available massaging front seats, and an optional 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Trim Levels & Availability:
Available trim levels include SE, SE Tech, SEL R-Line, and SEL Premium R-Line.
