In 1993, Allen Police rolled out an experimental bicycle patrol with officers riding through Ford and Bethany parks in the evenings. Fast forward more than 30 years, and bike patrol has become an important part of keeping Allen safe, from neighborhood patrols to big events like Allen USA.
As part of Allen’s 150th anniversary, we’re pedaling through the city’s history one story at a time.
