This barbershop tag has this "old school barbershop sound" to it. I think it has to do with the chord progressions and how that type of harmonization was all the rage around the time groups like the Suntones hit the scene.
It is not too difficult to sing or to teach but there are some chromatic lines that can be a bit confusing to the ear at first.
