not that i'm not having a blast
but if this isn't a mess it'll do 'til the mess gets here

and i'm not one to repeat the past
so i've committed this next year to all new disasters

limericks written on the faces of stars
not so much in the End Times but well on through them

the five stages of lockdown are
anger, denial, bargaining, Haagen-Dazs, and naps

the shadow her hair throws upon her cheeks
little glances from under her eyelashes

there's no cure for this grand disease
I love you and it’s only getting worse

it seems to take so much energy to let go
even though letting go is doing nothing at all

one request for 2021
may all your disasters be better than 2020
