Aliens vs Predator 2's (AvP2) developer, Monolith, wrote a detailed backstory for AvP2 and it's characters. However, most of this backstory was removed from the final version of the game.

Some of the backstory does remain in the final version of the game, but mainly as references to things that aren't expanded upon. Also some names of characters and places changed in the final version of the game.

Fortunately, I happened to stumble upon this previously unreleased backstory which was built for the alpha version of AvP2. In this audio narration of the backstory, I've added supporting video to go along with it.

The backstory is broken into the following:

1. Overview
2. Cast
3. Teams:
-The Marine Rescue Team
-The Corporate Team
-The Iron Bear Battalion
-The Alien Hive
-The Predator Sumar Clan
4. Some characters from each team.

$DM_BW_Mechwarriors - AvP2 Custom Map (Complete Playthrough) Aliens vs Predator 2 single player custom map titled DM_BW_Mechwarriors aka DM BW Mechwarriors. Map author: {BW} Netrider. Map review: Mechwarriors is an exosuit themed map. This map was originally a multiplayer map that I republished as a single player map in Happy Hunting Map Pack as it played fine in single player. In Mechwarriors, the player will spawn as Harrison with no weapons and must get in an exosuit to defeat all the npcs and reach the end of the map. In multiplayer, the player can get in and out of exosuits at will. However, this feature isnt available in single player. Thus, the player will be stuck in the exosuit permanently unless they use cheat mpmorph. Also it is worth noting that there are almost no ammo pickups on this map as the player is expected to use a new exosuit for ammo often. Therefore, the player will run low on ammo quite fast. To combat this problem, the player can use cheat mpstockpile to give themselves more ammo. The map doesnt work perfectly in single player, but with these two cheats, it is playable. All the player really needs is the cheat mpstockpile and they can defeat the entire map in one exosuit. Overall, this is a unique map and is worth checking out just to see the dozens of npc enemy exosuits attacking the player.
