"World Spirituality Classics 3: The Muslim Highlife of Alhaji Waziri Oshomah" is out now!
Order yours: luakabop.lnk.to/Waziri.
Alhaji Waziri Oshomah begins his sermon before a dancing crowd. We’re in a small part of southern Nigeria called Afemailand, known for being a harmonious region where Muslims, Christians, and everyone, no matter their religion, live—and dance—together.
“Omhona - Omhona” roughly translates to, “You cannot be a jack of all trades,” and the song shares messages of peace and togetherness. “We need everybody for a better society," he sings, "because a tree cannot make a forest alone. The forest is comprised of different trees and many other living things.”
