Factoring a quadratic expression into a pair of linear expressions is one of the primary methods used to solve quadratic equations. In the previous lectures we examined "special product" quadratic expressions whose factors can be easily identified. In this lecture, we will see that quadratic expressions can sometimes be factored by a trial and error process called "factoring by inspection".
