Dan Rose is a consultant on Search and Information Retrieval. He worked with Alex at A9, and co-authored, with Alex, the book From Mathematics to Generic Programming, based largely on Alex's Journeys courses held at A9. In this talk, Dan describes how his work with Alex taught him to learn from the past, but also to overcome it.
