I loved this song for Alex and Misa, mostly because it just fits and it was the first song ever made with them -- thanks Train! -- albeit a different version. Still, I wanted something sweet, something from Misa's point of view because most of it has been either both of them or Alex thus far. It was Misa's turn for sure.
My viewers will recognize this song as one I use for JxHQ, which only furthers their similarities, in my opinion, though it is a different part of the song here. I'm quite happy with this. Lots of manips and triple X stuff, which gives this video a mature rating. This song is perfect for them, my babies, because of the futuristic vibe, which I associate with ACO being set in the near future.

My entry for MissDoonaQueens contest, round 2. So nervous! But excited about posting my entry. Admittedly, there was more I wanted to do with it, but Im satisfied with it, and I ran out of time. Luckily, I sent my entry in on the deadlines- it just took a while to get this video posted due to computer issues.
For this round, we were given elements and mine was Earth Substance. I used Toph, an Earthbender, of course, and I wanted the song to reflect the physical and mental strength that comes with bending that element. Toph is nothing if not strong and I wanted the video to reflect that, both in her bending and in her beliefs that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to, despite her protective father constantly reminding her of her inability to see. This song reminded me of her, with her father constantly trying to take away the thing that makes her strong.

My parts for round 3 of the ABS summer contest. The theme for this round was emotions, and my team was assigned to portray love. I was happy when we settled on this song because I think it’s so pretty and I’ve been wanting to edit a Kou x Futaba video with it. I picked couples I thought fit the tone and lyrics, and tried to portray the theme as best I could, which wasn’t too difficult as even with the kind of melancholy feel each part seems to have, I think these couples have some intensely romantic moments (like Futaba yelling out Kou’s name, and Asami taking care of Korra, and them walking off together at the end). I also really like how the text turned out for this video.
This was a versus round, which we won and were awarded 2 extra points!

I had to edit Annie/Armin for Mac, because she’s such a big fan of this couple and she made me an absolutely lovely Annie/Armin video last year.

I wanted to edit this song for them, as the second verse is especially fitting for what I wanted to show. It goes from one end of the spectrum to the other, which made it a challenge to edit, but also perfect for showing the range of emotions in Armin, and in their relationship.
It is an honest portrayal of Annie through Armin’s eyes. I wanted to show his frustration with Annie when she’s done ‘being a good person’ for him, his anger with himself for sticking with her and his lingering inclination to want to mend her like a wounded animal that might bite him. I think Armin is indeed kind and someone Annie might regard as one of the ‘good’ people he so strongly wants her to be. But I also wanted to portray his anger and hurt over her betrayal, for refusing the second chance he offered her. I think the lyrics do a better job than me at expressing what I was going for. :)
Big thanks to my beta-tester, littlemisfiretruckx, who put up with endless versions of this so I could get the coloring to work right without smashing my computer. Which probably would have been counter-productive. xD
I also tried something a little different with typography this time. I hope it looks ok!
Merry Christmas, Mac! Here’s some angsty Armin for you! I’ll get to commenting on all your videos again eventually, but you should know you are such an inspiration to me, especially when it comes to Annie/Armin. I hope you enjoy this, and that you have a wonderful, safe holiday!
