Here is my response to many critics and viewers who panned Alex Garland's Civil War as "empty" or "saying nothing." It's shocking to me how ignorant and surface-level these critics were considering their vocation.

I hope this video illuminates the genius of Alex Garland, and how sometimes what we EXPECT does not match the writer's INTENT. It's also a study in alternative, or lack of, characterization, and how that approach is just as valid as the traditional approach we all come to EXPECT.
