Where Did Our Love Go is a 1964 song recorded by American music group the Supremes for the Motown label.
Written and produced by Motowns main production team Holland–Dozier–Holland, Where Did Our Love Go was the first single by the Supremes to go to the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart in the United States, a spot it held for two weeks, from August 16 to August 29, 1964. It was also the first of five Supremes songs in a row to reach #1 (the others being Baby Love, Come See About Me, Stop! In the Name of Love, and Back in My Arms Again). It also reached #1 on the Cash Box R&B singles chart.
The Supremes version is ranked #475 on Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry in 2016 due to its cultural, historic, or artistic significance. Billboard named the song #4 on its list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time.

Ashes to Ashes is a song written and recorded by English singer-songwriter David Bowie. It was the lead single from the 1980 album Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) and became Bowies second UK No. 1 single. It is also known for its innovative video, directed by Bowie and David Mallet, which at the time was the most expensive music video ever made.
The lyrics revisit Bowies Major Tom character from 1969s Space Oddity in a darker theme, which he referenced once again in 1995 with Hallo Spaceboy. The songs melody was sampled in a remix of his 2013 single Love Is Lost. The songs original title was People Are Turning to Gold.
Interviewed in 1980, Bowie described the song as very much a 1980s nursery rhyme. I think 1980s nursery rhymes will have a lot to do with the 1880s/1890s nursery rhymes which are all rather horrid and had little boys with their ears being cut off and stuff like that. Years later, Bowie said that with Ashes to Ashes he was wrapping up the seventies really for himself, which seemed a good enough epitaph for it.
AllMusic critic Dave Thompson described the track and its accompanying music video as a very deliberate acknowledgment of the then-burgeoning New Romantic scene. It was ranked as the 5th best single of 1980 by NME magazine.

Im Not in Love is a song by English group 10cc, written by band members Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman. It is known for its innovative and distinctive backing track, composed mostly of the bands multitracked vocals. Released in the UK in May 1975 as the second single from the bands third album, The Original Soundtrack, it became the second of the groups three number-one singles in the UK between 1973 and 1978, topping the UK singles chart for two weeks. The song was also the bands breakthrough hit worldwide, reaching number one in Ireland and Canada and number two on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, as well as reaching the top 10 in Australia, New Zealand and several European countries.
Written mostly by Stewart as a riposte to his wifes declaration that he did not tell her often enough that he loved her, Im Not in Love was originally conceived as a bossa nova song played on guitars, but the other two members of the band, Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, disliked the track and it was abandoned. However, after hearing members of their staff continue to sing the melody around their studio, Stewart persuaded the group to give the song another chance, to which Godley replied that for the song to work it needed to be radically changed, and suggested that the band should try to create a new version using just voices.
