Alejandro, a Spanish student from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), chose Telecom Paris for its academic excellence and discovered a rich community life that he greatly appreciates. He benefited from an Erasmus+ grant and a UPV scholarship to finance his MSc in Engineering (diplôme d'ingénieur) at Telecom Paris.
In this video, Alejandro explains how he chose to do a double degree at Telecom Paris after 4 years of bachelor's studies followed by a first year of master's studies at the UPV's Faculty of Telecommunications Engineering in Spain.
At Telecom Paris, he entered the 2nd year of the engineering diploma and chose to follow the 2 tracks: Embedded Systems and Large Digital Infrastructures. He finds that they offer a good mix of theoretical courses and practical work. He particularly appreciates the availability of the teaching and research staff.
Living close to the school, Alejandro is fully involved in Telecom Paris campus life and the activities offered by the many associations: sports, visits, parties, integration weekends, sailing, mountain trips... For Alejandro, academic excellence and a very rewarding student life are the 2 main reasons for applying to Telecom Paris.

Machine listening has led to considerable scientific advances, notably by figures such as Gaël Richard, who was awarded a European ERC grant in 2022 for his Hi-Audio project. This ambitious programme aims to develop hybrid approaches combining signal processing and deep learning to analyse and understand sounds with unequalled precision.
