One of my first experiences with modern Death Metal is Hour of Penance. When I was a teenager, I was blown away by their fast and heavy playing. While I don't get into them as much nowadays, I look back on their second full-length album, "Pageantry for Martyrs" as being one of my top favorite from their catalogue.
