The clear support for Alberta independence demonstrated by delegates to the UCP AGM in Edmonton derailed the planned agenda.

The meeting was a success in general, but the elephant in the room can no longer be denied. Independence supporters are dominating the active membership of the UCP, and Premier Danielle Smith must figure out how to deal with it or risk a party split.
