Alaska has a large number of rivers reflecting variations in sediment supply, slope, and runoff. In this video, I provide a Google Earth tour of some interesting river features, including: The transition from glaciers to rivers, braided river morphology, meandering river morphology, a river channel constrained by topography, anastomosing river channels, an estuary, a delta, a braid plain and barrier bars. I recommend that you use Google Earth to visit these places and explore the areas around each brief stop. There is so much to see and learn!
