Holy smokes, guys.
Crossovers are sooooo not my thing... especially when it involves super intense manipulations and deep storytelling xD
But Avatar is literally the first thing I ever edited with, and Disney is the love of my life, so I wanted to go for it even though I swear I can't do this contest justice ohmygosh x'D
Just excuse the horrible masks.
They are terrible.
I'm seriously laughing at the fact that of all the characters I could have gone with, I chose the one that comes from probably the most HD movie copy I own, and my Avatar's quality... just is not quite up to speed *insert nervous laughter*
But Al is my baby and would be a perfect little bender, so I'm absolutely going for it :3
Ummm... backstory is pretty much the same as it is in the movie. Al is a street rat, whose father abandoned him and whose mother died when he was extremely little and, because of that, has very little memories or knowledge about his parents. The other people in the marketplace treat him as nothing but dirt under their feet, though Al feels like there is something special and unique to him - he just doesn't know what yet.
As he's eating one day, he spots some creatures he has never seen before - a mother flying bison and her ... flying calves? Baby bisons?
He bonds with them instantly, and decides to hop on the mother's back who takes him away from his dark past in the marketplace and towards a new land covered in ice and full of brighter, welcoming adventures...
which just so happens to be the historical district of the Southern Water Tribe (because I decided to be old school and go with the ATLA version oops)
Where is Abu? What about the other baby bison? Where are they? Is Abu riding them???
You'll have to stay tuned to figure it out (or make up a plot all your own ;D)
So hopefully this audition video isn't too embarrassing to look at? xD
And of course, everyone go check out the contest!! Auditions are still open through all of October and most of November, so go try out! :3
