Akbar Arsiwala, a former U-M MBA student, was among five summer interns who spent time with disability health experts in the Department of Family Medicine and the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (as well as from other Michigan Medicine departments) during the MDisability and Center for Disability Health & Wellness 2026 summer internship.
Arsiwala, who has a lower-leg impairment, discusses what motivated him to participate in the internship, as well as the projects he completed during the nine-week internship. Arsiwala describes himself as a young Indian man with tan skin, short black curly hair, wearing a light blue collared shirt tucked into black dress pants.
