"Very cool board. Lots of speed and upwind power in the lightest of wind, but still comfortable and maneuverable....It turns well and is much more "loose" feeling than a formula windsurf board or even some other light wind kiteboards. You can ride it relaxed and slow and turny if you want, OR you can point your toes and load up the fins to blast raceboard style.
I think the minimum wind threshold for it is about the same as for a large door; basically whatever it takes to keep your big kite flying reliably. The technique to get it going is more delicate, though. You need a little room to accelerate downwind initially until the fins start doing their thing.
What I like about it compared to a door is that it doesn't splash your face or catch in chop / waves, and the fins let you finesse your way upwind and downwind without having to do any leg-straining edging."

UPDATE: 11/09/2010 - The future equipment for kiteboard racing was decided last weekend on the IKA class AGM. From 2011 on, racing will take place in an open division and in a production division, which is strictly box-rule controlled and limited to 1 board & 3 kites that each competitor can register per event - bit.ly/IKAGear
