This skill video will show you how to perform an engine compartment inspection and routine preventative maintenance of an ARFF apparatus.
NOTE: Ensure vehicle is properly prepared and all personnel are clear before performing this skill. Remember that inspection and maintenance must be appropriately documented per local SOP/Gs.
NOTE: Check the apparatus operator’s manual to determine whether the transmission and power steering fluid levels must be checked while the vehicle is running at normal operating temperature. If this is the case, perform these checks now (directly after the in-cab inspection), before shutting off the apparatus.
