During exercise Air Defender, about 250 aircraft and 10,000 participants from 25 nations trained joint air operations in European airspace under the command of the German Air Force for two weeks. It has been considered the largest deployment exercise of air forces in NATO's history and demonstrated transatlantic solidarity.
