This is from a great album The Natch'l Blues by Taj Mahal, that features two very solid soulful drummers, Earl Palmer and Chuck Blackwell.
Bonzo was clearly influenced by Earl Palmer, who was one of the primary innovators of rock and roll, soul and funk drumming. If you're not familiar with him, I encourage you to do some research on his history. His autobiography "Backbeat" is a great read !
