Official announcement from MAA on Problem 25: "We want to make you aware of an issue identified on the AMC 12 A Exam administered on November 5. After the administration, we learned that question 25 did not include the correct solution among the answer choices.
To ensure consistent scoring for all participants, AMC will take the following steps:
Question 25 will be removed from scoring.
Six points will be added to every participant’s score to preserve the 150-point maximum exam score. This adjustment will appear in the platform as an additional item marked correct for all students.
Qualification for the American Invitational Math Exam (AIME) is determined by percentile rankings within each qualifying exam. Since all AMC 12 A participants will receive the same correction, this adjustment will not create an advantage relative to other qualifying exams."
