Launching for the first time in 2018 the Australian Institute of Music hosted the first ever FLIP Week across both our Sydney and Melbourne campuses. FLIP Week is a new learning experience for all AIM students which consists of three days of hands on, engaging and collaborative projects with students working with their peers from other departments across a range of special projects and workshops.
FLIP is meant to turn the classroom learning environment around so that the focus is formed from the student rather than from any curriculum or textbook. This encourages students to network with their peers outside their own departments and push themselves outside their normal comfort zones with their fellow peers and lecturers and participate and create projects that they wouldn’t normally receive in their weekly studies.
During FLIP week students engaged in range of different ranging from: creating their own short film, writing a song from the title which was fully produced in house by students and recorded in the AIM studios and the first meeting of the AIM Women’s Network (AWN).
AIM: To study music at AIM is all about having a fun, professional, academic experience that helps set you up for a diverse career in the music industry. From performing to studio work, teaching, publishing, entertainment management, music business and a whole lot more, it's all part of the AIM learning experience.
