Open source has never been better... and worse, at the same time.

Open source is going through it right now. Projects aren't taking any more contributions. Entire platforms are banning mostly AI-written projects. Companies are completely leaving open source and going closed source. And these are the people who love open source the most.
So I went through everything that's happened just this year — what's actually going on, why it's happening, and where I've landed on all of it.
