What is the real strength of SMEs when it comes to artificial intelligence? Are there also niches here in which hidden champions are emerging? And how do German SMEs see themselves in technological competition with China and the USA?
These questions occupies many experts who deal with the strategic use of technologies. The VITRONIC Group also addressed this topic at a panel discussion in Berlin.
The conclusion: SMEs have traditionally played an important role in the economy. It is these companies that create the majority of jobs in Germany and thus contribute to our prosperity. SMEs are characterized by a high degree of flexibility. In contrast to large corporations, they can react quickly to new developments and adapt their processes accordingly. This gives them the opportunity to integrate new technologies such as AI and digitalization at an early stage and thus gain a competitive advantage.
Data analysis is becoming increasingly important, especially in times of digitalization. By using AI, SMEs can analyze their data efficiently and derive valuable insights from it. This enables data-driven decision-making and helps to optimize business processes and reduce costs.
Another advantage of SMEs is their proximity to customers. Small and medium-sized enterprises have often built up close relationships with their customers and know their needs and wishes.
