The first episode from Ralston College's landmark symposium on artificial intelligence premieres today.
On Saturday, May 9, Ralston College hosted in Savannah its most urgent event to date. Bringing together the humanities, neuroscience, theology, computer science, and philosophy of mind, the symposium assembled some of the leading voices of our time to confront one of the defining questions of our age: What exactly is artificial intelligence, and what does it reveal about ourselves?
Today's episode begins that conversation.
Anchoring the symposium were three extraordinary thinkers:
- @DrIainMcGilchrist, the world-renowned neuroscientist whose work on the divided brain offers a profound framework for understanding both the promise and the dangers of AI.
- @JonathanPageau, theologian and creator of The Symbolic World, whose work explores the symbolic and narrative realities that machines may imitate but cannot inhabit.
- Dr Stephen @WolframResearch, the distinguished computer scientist and physicist whose pioneering work on computation provides a uniquely expansive perspective on intelligence, complexity, and reality itself.
Across lectures, dialogues, roundtable conversations, music, and art, the symposium explored questions of intelligence, attention, agency, consciousness, and the future of human civilization.
