AI agents can provision infrastructure, wire databases, and keep systems running — but a non-deterministic swarm with full cloud credentials and no constraints is a loaded gun pointed at production. This video makes the case that we don't need new AI-specific tools to solve that problem, because we already solved it for fallible humans years ago.
The solution is a battle-tested stack built from open-source CNCF projects: Crossplane to replace the raw cloud API with your own curated, compliant abstraction; GitOps with Argo CD or Flux so nothing reaches production without a traceable commit; and Kyverno policies that enforce hard rules automatically, regardless of who or what made the change. The result is a leash that keeps agents fast and tireless while squeezing all the unpredictability down to a single auditable, version-controlled, revertable point. For teams with the scale or data-sovereignty requirements to justify it, Modelplane extends the same control plane to self-hosted model inference, bringing the entire agent loop onto infrastructure you own.
