In this interactive online presentation, Eric Doehne, from the Department of Art Conservation and Heritage Science at Scripps College, reveals how Ellen Browning Scripps became such a person. It is a story of travel and writing opening up new horizons, the impact of art and cultural heritage in an era of rapid change, and the development of values and a commitment that guided her to understand and support what we now call cultural sustainability.
The San Diego Museum of Art Guest Lecture Series features outstanding scholars from throughout the art world. Each lecture connects a topic to the permanent collection of the Museum and is followed by a virtual tour with a docent. This program is sponsored by the Museum Docent Council.
