Agility’s Digit to Enter Asian Factories at Scale
Agility entered into a strategic partnership with Japan's ABICO Group on its 60th anniversary. ABICO will provide Agility with sensors to enhance Digit's environmental awareness and precision operations. Agility will then ship Digits in bulk to ABICO's Asian factories, enhancing intelligent automation in the last mile between production lines and warehouses, improving production and logistics supply chain efficiency.
The group has "more than 20 domestic and international manufacturing bases" worldwide, concentrated in Asia.
Agility has launched the Digit V4, boasting a battery life of over six hours, a payload capacity of 25 kg, switchable end-effectors, autonomous charging, and 24/7 operation. Multiple Digits can operate collaboratively. Digit recently demonstrated its capabilities beyond box handling, including food handling and sorting, expanding its applications in retail scenarios.
This Ohio-based robotics company will begin trial operations at Amazon and GXO Group warehouses in 2023. It has also signed a strategic partnership with Schaeffler and plans to deploy its Digits in nearly 100 Schaeffler factories worldwide over the next few years.
Ability is indeed a low-key company. Digit is born to work, not to perform on stage. Or rather, in the factory, warehouse, in front of the shelves, between the boxes, this is Digit's stage.
