England. 1925. At a lavish country house party, a practical joke appears to have gone horribly, murderously wrong. It will be up to the unlikeliest of sleuths, the fizzingly inquisitive Lady Eileen 'Bundle' Brent, to unravel a chilling plot that will change her life, cracking wide open the country house mystery.
One of Agatha Christie’s finest novels, The Seven Dials Mystery from 1929, came to the screen in a new three-episode series from Netflix on 15 January. At this unique event, cast members Mia McKenna-Bruce, Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman, writer Chris Chibnall and director Chris Sweeney discussed the making of this hotly anticipated release with host Bidisha.

She writes about the arts and culture and current affairs for the main UK broadsheets and appears extensively across the BBC, CNN, Channel 5 and Sky News. She is also an acclaimed filmmaker and photographic artist. Her most recent publication is The Future of Serious Art.
Chris Chibnall is a BAFTA, Royal Television Society, Broadcasting Press Guild and Peabody award-winning screenwriter, novelist, playwright and executive producer. His television work includes Broadchurch, The Great Train Robbery, Doctor Who, Torchwood and Life on Mars. His debut novel, Death at the White Hart, was published in 2025.
Chris Sweeney is a director of films, television series and music videos, and hosts a podcast called Homo Sapiens, the LGBTQ+ answer to BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. His work has been widely acclaimed by The Guardian, The Times, Vogue, Dazed and more.
Mia McKenna-Bruce is an award-winning actress. Her film and television work includes Persuasion, How to Have Sex and The Lady. In 2024, she won the BAFTA EE Rising Star Award.
Helena Bonham Carter is an actress known for her wide-ranging roles across films and televisions series. A SAG and BAFTA winner, she is known for performances such as The King’s Speech, Fight Club and The Crown.
Martin Freeman is an actor known for roles in The Office, Sherlock and The Hobbit. He has been the recipient of Emmy and BAFTA awards and has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
