Seagulls Gather | Aftermath by LeVar Burton Book Review @SeagullsGather | Uploaded August 2022 | Updated October 2024, 32 minutes ago.
My review of LeVar Burton's Aftermath. This novel, from 1997, follows the lives of four characters in America after a race war has caused the country to all but collapse. The only hope is Dr Reynolds' super-machine the Neural Enhancer which cures every ailment of the human body and grants special powers. There are, however, those who are threatened by this breakthrough and will stop at nothing to prevent its manufacture.
LeVar Burton was, of course, Geordi La Forge on Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Aftermath was his debut novel and it would be 17 years before he wrote another.
