Reclamation and partners restore burned land and protect water quality.

In September 2024, the Plex Fire burned 500 acres near the Boise River Diversion Dam in Ada County, Idaho. Following containment of the fire, Reclamation initiated a rehabilitation and restoration project to stabilize burned areas, prevent invasive species, and protect water quality.

The restoration effort was completed in late 2025 and was made possible through Reclamation’s strong partnership with Ada County and Idaho Fish and Game.
