Menasha's high school football team was invited to spend the day with the Green Bay Packers.
Less than a month earlier an EF-3 tornado cut through the Fox Valley, damaging homes and businesses. Menasha football's home stadium, Nathan Calder Stadium, was severely damaged in the storm.
In the morning, the team watched the Packers practice. After it was over, the Bluejays players got to join a huddle with Matt LaFleur and the Packers.
Coach Jeramie Korth specifically mentioned Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs as players who spent time with Menasha's players and coaches. We also saw Micah Parsons, Christian Watson and many others helping to create memories.
Next, Menasha ate lunch at the Johnsonville Tailgate Village before taking stadium tours.
Korth said watching the Packers practice on Sunday was a new experience for at least half of his players. He also said more than half hadn't seen the inside of historic Lambeau Field.
They visited a suite and players got to walk out of the Packers' tunnel.
They left their gathering with the Packers with photos, autographs and a powerful message.
At Lambeau Field, Sunday, it wasn't Go Pack Go that echoed through the building, it was "Go Jays Go."
The Bluejays will play their home games at the Banta Bowl on the Lawrence University campus. Menasha's first game is Friday vs. Plymouth at 7 p.m.
