Ian was always a good kid; great student, talented musician and had a great smile. So when his mother Jackie started to notice changes in him around 12 (panic attacks, self harm and suicidal ideation) she was incredibly worried. When Ian came out as trans, Jackie felt relieved that she finally knew what was wrong and how to care for him. As they navigated the challenges of his transition together, she discovered that empowering Ian also allowed her to embrace her own authenticity.
