Three massive stories this week expose everything happening in South Africa right now.
1. AfriForum just won a landmark court case against Cape Town. The DA's flagship city was ordered to scrap three tariffs on your water bill after the court ruled they were unconstitutional. R4.2 billion hole in Cape Town's budget. Your water bill gets cheaper from July.
2. 4,499 South African refugees arrived in the US since October 2025. All but three are white. They're being processed faster than people fleeing Syria. A farmer who lost farms to drought and bad business decisions called it a "fantastic opportunity." While the ANC mocked Trump all year, Trump is taking South Africa's citizens.
3. Fadiel Adams — an MP who went to Parliament and accused Crime Intelligence General Dumisani Khumalo of involvement in political assassination — just got arrested by the task team run by that same general. A High Court order was obtained hours earlier to delay his arrest. He was transported in secret to KZN. His lawyer was denied access. His whereabouts unknown to his own party.
