The Stirling Prize is the big award in British architecture - handed to the best building of the year - with previous winners including Zaha Hadid and Norman Foster.

This year, two housing projects are nominated for the top prize - one a new development and one a renovation.

Both spotlight attempts to create modern, affordable housing for all - but also highlight how much more money is required if the new Labour government wants to create a revolution in social housing.
