So you want to audition for American Idol, The Voice or America’s Got Talent. You have to ask yourself the question, What are Producers looking for? What makes you appealing, unique, or different?
Dress up!!! There is no such thing as over dressing up. Look unique, because they see thousands of people auditioning for the same spot you are.
You have literally 10-15 seconds to WOW them song choice is very important. Sing the portion of the song that shows off your voice a little. No need to plan on singing a entire song. They will stop you. However, you should have 3-5 different songs you can pull from.
