A playthrough of Scott Adams' Adventureland, published by his Adventure International for the TRS-80 in 1979.

Adventureland was the very first text adventure game for the personal computer. Adams initially created a BASIC version which was released by TRS-80 Software Exchange and Creative Computing Software in late 1978. The BASIC version was notoriously slow, taking over 20 minutes to load and a handful of seconds between each scene. Adams went on to create a much faster assembly language version (the version I'm playing) the following year, released by his and his wife Alexi's newly founded Adventure International. The success of Adventureland spawned another 13 games in the Adventure series.

Using simple two-word commands you explore a fantasy world, solve puzzles and try to uncover 13 lost treasures - For some reason, the game didn't register me dropping off the Royal Honey so I only got 12 of the 13 treasures.

I'll add a link to the corresponding article on my blog, later on.
