All GE Aviation jet engines can operate on approved sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) today and in the future. We are helping lead the industry to develop 100% SAF that doesn’t require blending with conventional jet fuel. Developed with economic, social and environmental considerations, SAF is made from non-petroleum based sources including, plant-based materials, algae, alcohols and sugars. Compared to petroleum-based jet fuel, SAF has the potential to cut lifecycle CO2 emissions by up to 80%.
