Been working on this little guy for a while now! Meet Piku Piku, the mascot I designed for our Pixel × Pixel event in Tokyo!! 🇯🇵
The design process was a lot of fun, I started with some rough sketches and a 3D sculpt, then used Adobe Firefly Boards to iterate on proportions and explore directions I wouldn’t have thought of on my own. AI and my human character design friend collaborator in Japan @DrPuttsunko gave me some suggestions along the way that actually made the design stronger.
But the most important thing was that I wanted to use my own work as the input and keep my artistic hand in the process the whole time. Otherwise it just doesn’t feel like mine anymore.
Oh and yeah... I turned him into a keychain 😅 What do you think…would you rock a Piku Piku keychain?
