Admiral Byrd's secret 1947 diary has resurfaced, and what the decorated US Navy admiral wrote inside it does not line up with a single line of the official Operation Highjump record. This was not a fringe theorist. Richard E. Byrd held the Medal of Honor, sat on the cover of Time, and was one of only four Americans ever allowed to wear a medal bearing his own image. So when his private flight log from February 1947 describes green valleys where there should be only ice, a living mammoth at 74 degrees, and disc craft with strange markings pulling his plane out of his own control, it forces a question the Navy never answered.
