I've developed a new design for the setting circle Az: Adjustable setting circles for Dobsonian telescopes (Updated) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIIOt... (Starts @ 5:48 in the timeline.) The azimuth dial and maker are no longer needed. But a leveling base is still required. Clear Skies!
