Exercise High Sierra 25 is a No. 2 Operational Conversion Unit (2OCU) training exercise, held at RAAF Base Townsville and TFTA over the period 24 Nov –11 Dec 25. The exercise is the final component of the F-35A Lightning II Operational Conversion Course. The course prepares graduates to execute operations away from a main operating base and is an opportunity to participate in large force employment scenarios and to deliver high explosive ordnance into the training range.
Exercise Crimson Dawn 25-2 (CD 25-2) will be conducted from 28 Nov – 08 Dec 25. The exercise is a component of the F/A-18F Super Hornet Operational Conversion Course to qualify Fast Jet Pilots and Weapon Systems Officers. The exercise will be conducted from RAAF Base Townsville and involves sorties to nearby Defence weapons ranges. Graduating air combat aircrew are posted to No. 1 Squadron at RAAF Base Amberley, approximately 40km southwest of Brisbane.
