On 20 May 2026, personnel of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Corps formed up at Gaza Ridge, North Bandiana Barracks, to mark the 40th anniversary of the consecration of the Prince Philip Banner.
The parade brought together serving members, veterans, and distinguished guests to honour the history, customs, and traditions of the Corps.
Central to the ceremony was the symbolic significance of the banner, highlighting both its enduring legacy and the Corps’ intent to pursue its eventual replacement.
The event also bridged generations, with former and current banner ensigns representing continuity of service and stewardship.
40 years to the day in the very same location as the last, the parade served as a commemoration of the past, a reaffirmation of Corps identity, esprit de corps and connection to heritage, reinforcing the importance of preserving tradition while preparing for the future.
