There are those who insist that Christians are commanded to obey the old covenant Law, but fail to understand that this is an extreme insult to Christ. The Pharisees kept the law externally, but Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeds the Pharisees we will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
He also said He did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it, and ended this discourse saying, ‘therefore, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect’. In this video I explain the purpose, weakness, and standard of the law and how Christ fulfilled the law so that we may be united to His righteousness.
